Lactation & Billing Information for Willow Midwives
Willow wants to be your partner in navigating your insurance and planning for the cost of your care with us. Willow Midwives Ltd is contracted with the major insurance carriers in Minnesota, including Aetna, America's PPO/HealthEZ, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Partners, Hennepin Health, Medical Assistance, Medica, TriCare, UCare, and United HealthCare.
When receiving lactation care at Willow, you will be billed based on the length and complexity of your visit. Both you and your baby will be billed for separate visits. These visits may be billed as a clinic visit, virtual visit or telehealth phone visit depending on the nature of your visit with our lactation team. For many insurance plans, these visits may be subject to deductible, copay and/or coinsurance. Separate deductibles, copays and coinsurances may be applied by your insurance company for you and your baby. Our rates are the same for all clients and providers however, Willow has different contracted rates with each insurance listed above.
Before scheduling a lactation visits, Willow recommends that you:
1. Determine if Willow Midwives Ltd is in-network on your specific plan. See information on the paying for care tab on how to do this.
2. Check to see how your insurance will cover an office visit at Willow. Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card. Tell them you will be going to Willow Midwives, our NPI is 1801299128 and the billing CPT codes commonly billed for these visits are office visit codes: New clients: 99203, 99204, 99205 & returning clients: 99213, 99214 or 99215. Please remember these will be billed for both the lactating person and the newborn.
If you are not using insurance to help pay for your costs, including if you participate in a cost-share program, please reach out to the billing department as this impacts how much you will owe.
